Istikhara ki Dua – Dua for Istikhara

Istikhara prayer is offered when a person gets into trouble at some point in his life and he cannot make any decision. In such a situation, Allah's Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has taught Muslims to perform Istikhara prayer. After performing Istikhara prayer, Allah Almighty puts in our heart the desire for what is best for us.

Istikhara Hadith

Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah peace be upon him) used to teach us to perform Istikhara in all our deeds as if he were teaching some Surah of the Holy Qur'an. He said: Pray 2 rakah then recite this dua istikhara.

Istikhara ki Dua

دعائے استخارہ:

اَللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَستَخِيرُكَ بِعِلمِكَ ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ العَظِيم فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلا أقدِرُ ، وَتَعلَمُ وَلَا أَعلَمُ ، وَأَنتَ عَلَّامُ الغُيُوبِ ، اَللّهمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ َتَعلَمُ أنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ – يسمي حاجته - خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمرِي فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ، ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ ، وَإِن كُنتَ تَعلمَ أَنَّ هَذا الأَمْرَ شَرٌّ فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ ، وَاقْدُرْ لِيَ الخَيرَ حَيثُ كَانَ ، ثُمَّ اَرْضِنِي بِه۔

اردو ترجمہ: اے اللہ بے شک میں تجھ سے تیرے علم کے ساتھ بھلائی کرتا ہوں اور تجھ سے تیری قدرت کے ساتھ طاقت طلب کرتاہوں اور میں تجھ سے تیرے فضل عظیم کا سوال کرتا ہوں کیوں کہ تو قدرت رکھتاہے اور میں قدرت نہیں رکھتا تو جانتاہے اور میں نہیں جانتا اور تو غیبوں کو خوب جانتاہے۔ اے اللہ اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ بے شک یہ کام(کام کا نام بھی لے)  میرے لیے میرے دین میرے معاش اور میرے انجام کار کے لحاظ سے بہتر ہے تو اس کا میرے حق میں فیصلہ کردے اور اسے میرے لیے آسان کردے پھر میرے لیے اس میں برکت ڈال دے۔ اور اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ بے شک یہ کام (کام کا نام بھی لے) میرے لیے میرے دین میرے معاش اور میرے انجام کار کے لحاظ سے برا ہے تو اسے مجھ سے دور کردے اور مجھے اس سے دور کردے اور میرے لیے بھلائی کا فیصلہ کردے جہاں بھی وہ ہو پھر مجھے اس پر راضی کردے۔

Istikhara Dua in English

“O ALLAH, with YOUR knowledge I seek the good, with Your power I seek ability and Your mighty favor for certainly You have the power that I don’t have, You know and I do not Know and You Know the unseen. O ALLAH, in Your knowledge if this (think about his work) work is good for me in this Dunia and the Akhirah (hereafter), then let it be for me, grant me blessings in it and if it is (think about his work) bad for me then keep it far away from me and grant me any destiny that will make me happy”.

How to pray Istikhara prayer?

The method of Istikhara prayers is to perform Wudhu and then perform two rak'ats of prayers and recite Dua Istikhara before concluding the prayer. And leave the matter to Allah. Allah will make a better decision for you. In sha Allah.
